How to Edit Star Trek: Armada 2 ODF Files

"Star Trek: Armada 2" is a real-time strategy game that allows you to control your own Star Fleet army as you battle the game's various evil races. The game has a lengthy single-player campaign, but the game can also be easily customized with player-created mods. These mods can change everything from the simple aesthetics of your ships to gameplay-altering effects, such as what race you are battling against. Before you can activate the mods, though, you'll need to know how to edit the game's numerous ODF files.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the "ODF" folder from the game's directory. This will be found wherever you installed the game, which is located in the "Program Files" of your primary hard drive by default.

    • 2

Right-click on any of the files found in the folder.

    • 3

Mouse over the "Open with" selection and click on "Choose default program." A list of your computer's programs will appear.

    • 4

Click on the program "Notepad" and click "OK." The window will close.

    • 5

      Right-click the file again.

    • 6

Mouse over the "Open with" selection and click "Notepad." The file will open in Notepad, allowing you to edit the ODF file.
