How to Uninstall IMVU

IMVU is a social-networking site that allows users to create a 3D animated avatar, which they can use to interact with other users in a fantasy online environment. In order to use the IMVU service, a user must first download and install the IMVU software. Sometimes it is necessary to uninstall this software if you no longer want to use the program or need to make additional hard drive space available on the computer.

Instructions

  Click the "Start" button located at the bottom-left corner of the computer's desktop. This will open the start pop-up menu.

  Click the "Control Panel" option located on the right side of the start menu. This will open the control panel screen.

  Click the "Uninstall a program" option under the "Programs" category on the "Control Panel" screen. This will open the screen that will allow you to uninstall or change a program.

  Click the "IMVU" file name in the "Name" column on the "Uninstall or change a program" screen. This will cause an "Uninstall" option to appear at the top of the screen.

  Click the "Uninstall" option at the top of the screen. This will open the "User Account Control" pop-up window.

  Click the yes button on the "User Account Control" pop-up window to instruct the computer to uninstall IMVU. Once this process completes, a pop-up window will appear notifying you that IMVU was successfully uninstalled.
