How to Set Your Team Flag in Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst

"Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst" is an action RPG with a multiplayer emphasis developed by SEGA's Sonic Team for the PC. This package is part of the original Dreamcast game that combines the first two "Phantasy Star Online" episodes, adds additional content and incorporates a new team system that allow players to unite against evil under one banner. Gamers can create custom team logos (or "flags") for their teams and register them within the game. The setup process is straightforward, allowing players to proudly display their team colors on the battlefield after earning some "Team Points."

Instructions

    • 1

Create or locate an image that you want to use as your team flag. If you do not have image-editing software, you can pull an appropriate picture that appeals to you off the Internet. Make sure that the file is a .bmp (or "bitmap") and name it "flag" (e.g., "flag.bmp").

    • 2

Add the image to your "teamflag" folder in the "Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst" directory. The default installation path is "C:\Program Files\SEGA\PHANTASY STAR ONLINE Blue Burst." Add the "flag.bmp" to the "teamflag" folder in this directory, unless you specified a different path during the installation process.

    • 3

Start the game and create a team. Only the creator/leader of a team can register a team flag. Access the "Information Counter" in the game's lobby then select "Create Team" from the "Team" menu. If you do not want be team leader, you can opt to pass the flag image onto a friend for him to register.

    • 4

Select an appropriate name for your team. Type in a unique name and choose "Registration" to confirm. You are now the leader of your very own team.

    • 5

Earn "Team Points" by submitting special weapons found in dungeons. All teammates can contribute their rare findings toward a shared pool of points. Register "Team Points" in the lobby's main menu to earn the privilege of registering a team flag.

    • 6

Import your team flag into the game lobby. Select "Master Menu" from the Team Menu. Then select "Team Flag Records." Allow the game to import the "flag.bmp" image from your "teamflag folder" then close out the menu.

    • 7

Confirm that your team flag has imported properly by viewing the handle floating above your character. You should now see the custom team flag next to your user name. All members of your team will also have this image appear next to their name.
