How to Get Recipes on FF XIV

"Final Fantasy 14," known as "FF XIV," is an online role-playing game in the "Final Fantasy" universe. The game introduced the ability for players to craft in-game items if they have opted to play as the "Disciple of the Hand" character type. Crafting requires the player to collect ingredients according to standard recipes, of which there are many. Although there is an in-game way to collect recipes, the vast majority of players use online recipe databases for crafting.

  Open an Internet browser and navigate to one of the web pages that holds a database of recipes for "Final Fantasy 14." Although recipes can be acquired in the game, this is the most common and most comprehensive way to find recipes. The online lists include "FF XIV Zam," "FF XIV Origin," "FF XIV Crafters," "FF XIV YellowGremlin," "FF XIV Recipes," "FF XIV Core" and "Beyond Vana'diel."

  Use the website menu to find the right section of recipes for your character. Sections are generally divided by class or item type, so deciding what exactly you are looking for and knowing in advance what class you are will be helpful. The item types are usually sorted by the type of skill required to make the item as well as the use for the item. Item skill types include Alchemist, Armorer, Blacksmith, Carpenter, Culinarian, Goldsmith, Leatherworker and Weaver, and item use types include weapons, tools, armor, materials and consumables. Some of the database websites have a search engine, which can be used to more specifically find a recipe (for example, by ingredients). Find the item you wish to make.

  Look at the information for your selected item. It will tell you what class you need to be skilled in, what rank in that class you need to be to make the item, and what ingredients you need to make it.

  Turn on your gaming system with "FF XIV" in the disc drive. Play the game to gain the correct class and class rank for the item. You also must find the correct tools for the class in which you wish to work. Search the game world for the required ingredients.

  Open your menu and select the "Synthesize" option. This will let you select the ingredients to combine to make the item. Select the ingredients and create the item. If you have completed the other steps correctly, this will be a simple process. However, item creation does not always work the first time, so you may have to repeat the process.
