How to Play the Top Chef Game

"Top Chef -- The Game" is PC based video game that puts you in the spotlight of Bravo's hit TV show, "Top Chef." You create various entrees and desserts to impress the judges, host Padma Lakshmi and Chef Tom Colicchio. Dishes are created by pairing together various ingredients, which must be put together in a certain order to achieve a flavor deemed satisfactory by the judges.

Instructions

      Double-click the "Play Top Chef" icon to open the game. Click the "Click Here" bubble in the top right corner of the window. Type your name in the box provided to create a profile.

      Click "Play Challenges." Click the episode you want to play. Click on the arrows to scroll left and right to view all the available episodes. You must complete the episodes in order. Complete episode one to unlock episode two and so on. Click "Play" to start the episode.

      Read the text that appears. Click "Next" to view the next message. Read the description of the dish Padma asks you to make. She will give you clues as to which ingredients to use. For instance, she may ask you to make a sweet and spicy salad. The words "sweet" and "spicy" should tell you which ingredients to choose.

      Review the ingredient options that appear at the top of the screen. If Padma asks you to make a sweet and spicy salad, the window may show you an orange, an onion, a stalk of celery and a bunch of parsley. Underneath the window, "Which ingredient is sweet?" may appear. This is a clue, informing you to use an orange. Different pairings of ingredients may also be shown. These are clues as well.

      Click "Next" to continue to the kitchen. Each round has a time limit which is shown in the top right corner of the screen. Complete the dish before time runs out or lose the round. If you need a reminder as to what you are supposed to be making, the current dish description is located at the top left corner of the screen.

      Click the "Steps" tab on the left side of the screen. Each dish has a various number of steps you have to complete. Clicking the "Steps" tab moves two of the steps over to your work station. When the steps appear, complete them as fast as you can.

      Read the description of the steps on your work station. If the step asks for you to add a vegetable, click one of the vegetables that appears at the top of the screen in the ingredient bubble; this selects the vegetables. Click the step on your workstation to transfer the vegetable to your workstation. A meter will appear above the step, which measures the progress of each step. You can work at more than one step at a time.

      Move your mouse cursor over the time meter to increase the speed in which you complete the step. When the meter is filled, the step is completed. The space on your workstation will clear, which gives you room to complete another step.

      Click the "Steps" tab to move another step over to your workstation. Complete each step and continue moving the remaining steps over to the workstation until each step has been completed. When your dish is finished, it will be presented to the judges. If the dish is satisfactory, you will move on to the next round.

      Complete each round until each of the episodes has been completed.
