How to Fix the Ghost Hack in The Sims 2

"The Sims 2" is a simulation game for the PC that allows you to control the lives of multiple avatars called Sims. The game has several player created mods that are available for free, including two Ghost Hacks. Both versions of the hacks, Cyjon's Ghost Hack and Smonaff's Ghost Hack, allow you to give your Sims ghostly appearances and even mannerisms. Both mods can encounter a variety of similar errors that can typically be fixed over the course of a few minutes.

Instructions

  Install the necessary software required to run the mods. Both mods require the "The Sims 2: University" expansion pack. Without it, neither mod will work. Also, Cyjon's Ghost Hack requires a free-to-download program called Smarter EP (see Resources).

  Restart the game. Since they were created by a third-party, users detail that both mods sometimes glitch and behave erratically. If the mod has run fine before, typically restarting the game and your computer can fix your

  Reinstall the mod you are using. Files can become corrupted for a variety of reasons, which is why reinstalling the mod is often a great solution to solving any known errors with the mods. Reinstalling the mods will give your computer a fresh batch of files from which to load the third-party software.

  Download a newer version, if available. Both mods receive updates from time-to-time to improve stability and resolve any known glitches. The problem you are having may be a result of a glitch that developers have already corrected to a future version.
