How to Increase the Performance of Dragon Age on a Mac

"Dragon Age: Origins" is a computer game released for Apple computers in late 2009, a month after it was released on all other platforms. Like the Windows version, owners of the game can have trouble running "Dragon Age: Origins" if their computer does not meet the recommended requirements. To increase the game's performance on your Apple computer, you can change some of the video options in the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Load "Dragon Age: Origins" to the main menu.

    • 2

      Select "Options," followed by "Video."

    • 3

Change the resolution to the lowest available option. The smaller the screen, the less your processor has to work to run the game.

    • 4

Change the anti-aliasing option to "Off."

    • 5

Change both the graphics and texture detail to "Very Low."

    • 6

Uncheck "Play in Fullscreen Mode," "Vertical Sync" and "Frame-Buffer Effects." Check "Disable Multiple Render Targets," "Disable Aspect-Ratio Correction" and "Disable Intro Movies."

    • 7

Click "Save" to save the settings. Restarting the game may be required.
