How to Edit Steam Colors

If you like to play games on Steam, you may start to get bored with the default black coloring of the interface. Thankfully, you can change your Steam interface's colors and even add graphics to it. You can also add skins -- decorative overlays -- to your Steam interface; these are not provided by Steam, but rather by third-party designers. Steam does support the use of the skins, however, so using a skin will not get you banned.

Instructions

    • 1

Download a skin for Steam and save it to your computer in the "Steam\skins" folder. Various websites allow users to download skins for free (See "Resources" below).

    • 2

Close and restart Steam if you are using the program.

    • 3

      Log into your account.

    • 4

Click "View" and then "Settings" on the top toolbar.

    • 5

      Select the "Interface" tab.

    • 6

Choose the skin that you downloaded from the drop-down menu under "Skins."

    • 7

Restart Steam in order to activate the changes.
