"Garry's Mod," also known as GMOD, is a sandbox-style game in which players can freely manipulate the physics and objects of video games that use the Source engine. Source is a 3D game engine developed by Valve Corporation and utilized by such games as "Half-Life 2," "Portal 2" and "Team Fortress 2." In order to play "Garry's Mod," players must already have installed a game that uses the Source engine. Once "Garry's Mod" has been installed onto your computer, any other Source engine games that are added to your computer will automatically be integrated into the game.

Download and install the Steam client onto your computer.

Purchase, download and install "Garry's Mod" using the Steam client.

Purchase, download and install "Half-Life 2" onto the computer that has "Garry's Mod" already installed.

Open "Garry's Mod" and you will be able to manipulate the physics and objects of "Half-Life 2," as well as any other Source engine game that is installed on the same computer.
