How to Use the Map Editor in Minecraft

"Minecraft" is a three-dimensional creation game released by Markus "Notch" Persson in mid-2009. In this game, players must gather resources from around the world and create their own custom land. The game is customizable to the point where players can change the way the map looks in general. By changing the game's textures, you can edit its map. Changing the textures is as simple as placing the files in the right folder and loading them within the game.

Instructions

    • 1

Download textures from a reputable website or from the "Minecraft" wiki. Remember the download location you select before it completes.

    • 2

Open the folder containing your downloaded files.

    • 3

Press "Start" and type "texturepacks." Press "Enter" to open the folder in a new window.

    • 4

Drop and drag the downloaded file onto the "texturepacks" folder.

    • 5

Open "Minecraft." Click "Mods and Texture Packs" and double-click the textures that appear in the list. This loads the files and edits the map to the style coded in the pack.
