How to Make Tombs in Sims 3: World Adventures

"The Sims 3: World Adventures" expansion pack allows players to take their Sims on vacation and explore the Sim world. Sims on vacation have the option to explore ancient tombs to search for hidden treasure, however the tombs are all pre-generated by the game developers. This limitation makes it hard to indulge a Sim's sense of adventure after he has already explored every tomb -- unless you build your own tombs for your Sims to explore. However, the building items needed to create a tomb are not available to you unless you use cheat codes.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a lot where you would like to build the tomb. Tombs can be built in either residential lots or community lots.

    • 2

Hold down the "Shift" and "Ctrl" keys on your keyboard and press "C" to bring up the cheat command console. Some Windows Vista users may also need to hold down the "Windows" key.

    • 3

Type "testingcheatsenabled true" and press enter. This will turn on the testing cheats, which are necessary to use the next cheat.

    • 4

Type "buydebug" in the cheat console and press enter. This allows you to purchase and build using tomb items.

    • 5

Enter Build and Buy Mode to purchase and build items to begin creating your tomb. Some items, such as hidden doors and staircases, are only available in Build Mode, while the rest can be purchased under a new tomb tab in Buy Mode.

    • 6

Buy a "Tomb Room Maker" from Buy Mode and place it in every room of your tomb. This is a required item that designates the room as a tomb instead of a normal residence or community building. Click on the Tomb Room Maker once you have placed it to set different options for the tomb.

    • 7

Build the basic shape of your tomb using the Build Tools. Create walls using the wall tool, a floor using the floor tool and connect the different rooms using doors or hidden doorways. The best tombs have multiple rooms to explore.

    • 8

Purchase Tomb items to add activities, treasures, traps and obstacles to your tomb. Click on an item after you have placed it in a room to bring up further settings, such as setting how much treasure is spawned or how frequently a trap is sprung.

    • 9

Hold down the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys on your keyboard and click on an object you have placed in a tomb to set it as a switch -- which causes another object in the tomb to react, such as unlocking a treasure chest or revealing a hidden door. Click the item that you want to react to the trigger and select "Allow Triggers" from the Trigger Menu. Set the action you want to occur from the Activated Behaviors Menu. Press "Ctrl," "Shift" and then "Click" simultaneously on the switch again and select an action from the Link Triggers Menu. Click the other item again and link it to the trigger from the Link Triggers Menu. Repeat this for every switch or trigger event you want to place in your tomb.

    • 10

Click on the Tomb Room Maker in the last room of your tomb in order to set it as the last room of the tomb.

    • 11

Save the tomb and exit out of the lot. You can now send any of your Sims to the tomb for exploration.
