How to Mesh in Sims 2

Sims 2 allows players to create a virtual world and control their people or "sims" within that world. Items such as furniture and clothes can be purchased for the household in Sims 2, but custom content is also available. These custom objects have meshes, which are files that allow the custom content to show within the game. Downloading these meshes is easy and extends the options the Sims have for owning property.

Instructions

  Type "Sims 2 Meshes" into an Internet search engine. Push the "Enter" button.

  Select a website that offers a variety of meshes to download such as The Sims Resource. Select the "Downloads" tab from the top of the page. Select "Sims 2" from the menu under the download options.

  Scroll through the different downloadable options to find a certain object or clothing item. Find the ".sims2pack" file option, which is the middle of the three buttons below each downloadable item. Press this button, and select "Save As" when prompted to save the file on the computer.

  Open the item file once the download is complete and the Sims 2 game installer will open. Select the "Download" tab from the menu on the left side of the installer. Select "Install" to install the item into the game.

  Open the Sims 2 game and the appropriate Sim family to play the game. Look for the furniture items as a color alternative to the existing items in the Buy Mode. Find the alternatives by looking for an asterisk, identifying the custom content.

  Look for clothing items or body options in the Create-a-Sims window. Find the asterisk, identifying the custom options.
