Staying Alive
Extra lives, in a way, are cheats; they save your life when you should really be dead. But even these can run out eventually. There are two tricks to cheat death; the first is to push "Start" as soon as you die and then select "Exit." This way you can restart the level with the same amount of lives as you had the last time you were at this point. The other option is to get more lives. Head to the pair of trees in the northwest of the Prowling Grounds. Jump on a tree and hit the window with your cane for an extra life.
Treasure Key
Go to Mugshots Turf and head into the Boneyard Casino. Once inside, go to the Plant Garden. Walk over to the dog house and you will notice a broken light fixture next to it. Climb on the light fixture on push "X," followed by "Circle." Now keep walking in the same direction until you encounter a spinning pan. Jump on the green section repeatedly to smash the glass. Collect the treasure key that the glass was covering.
Boss Beating Tricks
Raleigh may start off large and fearsome, but he will soon shrink to a far less imposing size. So don't try and fight him; run away as he tries to squash you and hit him with your cane when he shortens. To beat Mugshot, don't go anywhere near him. Not only will you be safer, but you'll also be capable of causing him more damage. Hit all of the gold mirrors on the outside of the arena to burn him.
Unlockable Video Clips
Finish every Master Thief Run to unlock the behind the scenes movie for the game. Collect all of the Thievius Raccoonus pages to receive the movie entitled Thievius Raccoonus. To watch the Japanese version of the game's opening video clip, complete the entire game and then go to the Hideout.
