Shapeshifting (Werewolf)
The focus here is on building the Shapeshifting tree. Werewolf Druids should concentrate on Fury as a combat mainstay. Use the Summoning tree for extra points and ignore the Elemental tree, unless you want Cyclone Armor. In such a case, put one point in Arctic Blast and one in Cyclone Armor. Put 20 points into Werewolf, Fury and Lycanthropy. Rabies is a viable option for surplus skill points and the remainder can be used on Oak Sage and Heart of the Wolverine.
Shapeshifting (Werebear)
As with the Werewolf Druid, the Werebear Druid focuses on the Shapeshifting tree. The Werebear may want Cyclone Armo" as well, but should limit it to one point as synergies and equipment will help its impact. In the Summoning tree, max out Heart of Wolverine and put a point into Summon Grizzly. Only when Shapeshifting skills are maxed out should you continue to add extra points into this skill. Put 20 points into Lycanthropy, Werebear and Maul.
Skill Point Allocation
The Werebear wants to shoot for base Strength around the 150 to 180 range, and Dexterity in the 120 to 150 bracket. Ignore Energy and focus extra points exclusively in Vitality. The Werewolf ignores Energy as well, and should keep a minimum of 165 in Vitality. Raise your Dexterity high enough to keep your hit/miss ratio in acceptable range and focus on Strength exclusively once you pass the 450to 500 range in Hit Points.
Variety
These builds present a strong, reliable and well-tested way to develop your druid. However, the main goal of the game remains player enjoyment. Finding a balance between a strong build and leaving a few points aside for experimentation and customizing can make the difference between a powerful and bland Druid and a less powerful but more versatile and enjoyable character. Don't hesitate to mix it up. There will be extra points available for some adjustments. Those who plan to run through Hell difficulty may not wish to deviate too far from the typical build.
