Maximizing Moodlets
"The Sims 3" features a reward called a Moodlet which will put your Sim in a positive or negative mood, depending on the nature of the Moodlet. Use easy Moodlets to keep your Sim in a good mood, which improves your Sim's performance. Passive positive Moodlets occur without having to do anything. Purchase a radio for your home and keep it well decorated to receive positive Moodlets when your Sim is inside. Buy high-quality furniture for your home to receive positive Moodlets from sleeping, eating or taking a shower.
Hidden Traits
Although you select personality traits for your Sim at the character-creation screen, there are a few hidden traits. When your Sim starts a relationship and has children with another Sim in town, the children will be born with hidden traits depending on their parent's careers. The children of maids will not leave messes, while the children of criminals can sneak around. The children of rock stars, pizza-delivery persons, law-enforcement officials, military personnel and firefighters also have hidden traits.
Cheating Death
Your Sim can cheat death and live forever if you wish it. You can set the game settings so your Sims never age. Sims can still die accidentally from fire or electrocution, in which case giving the Grim Reaper a Death Flower will save them from death. If the Sim comes back as a ghost you can bring him back to life by feeding him Ambrosia or occasionally get the opportunity to bring him back as a playable ghost from a random Science Lab event.
Cheats
"The Sims 3" testing cheats allow players to directly change multiple aspects of the game. Hold down "Ctrl," "Shift" and "C" to bring up the cheat console. Type in "Motherlode" to get $50,000 or "Kaching" to earn $1,000. Type in "testingcheatsenabled true" to turn on the testing cheats and "testingcheatsenabled false"to turn them off again. With the testing cheats on you can click on your Sim or your Sim's mailbox to bring up a number of cheat settings.
