How to Tell Garry's Mod Which Game Type to Run

"Garry's Mod" Is a sandbox style game that uses the "Half Life 2" engine. Players are given the tools to create open-ended scenarios and create their own objectives. To play the game online, players can either join a server or create their own. If you decide to run your own server you can change the game type that is used on the server by editing the configuration file in the "Garry's Mod" directory.

     Open the "Garry's Mod" installation directory on your computer, usually in the directory Program Files/Steam/steammapps/Username/garrysmod.

     Locate the "cfg" folder and open the "server.cfg."

     Find the "sv_defaultgamemode" file and edit it to use whatever game type you want your server to run. For example, if you want to use the game type DarkRP, edit the file to "sv_defaultgamemode DarkRP".
