How to Track Bandits With a Warband

"Warband" is a stand-alone expansion to TaleWorlds' "Mount and Blade." Gamers play as a mercenary captain. Over the course of the game, they recruit and train soldiers, contract themselves out to lords and wealthy merchants, and hunt down roving bands of pirates, bandits and other highwaymen. The player can customize his character to draw upon an assortment of skills. These skills can help him in his endeavors, including hunting bandits. While hunting bandits, he also needs to carefully balance the size of his warband. Large warbands will have an easier time fighting, but they're also slower, making the actual act of tracking slower.

Instructions

Spend skill points on Tracking, Spotting and Pathfinding. Tracking improves your ability to read tracks in the ground, and at higher levels, you can hover your mouse over the tracks to get clues such as the size of the group and how fresh the prints are. Spotting helps you see far-away enemies. Pathfinding helps your warband move faster, an essential skill when you're chasing down a nimble band of bandits.

Recruit mercenaries and peasants to fill the ranks of your warband. You'll find mercenaries in the taverns in every town, while you can get peasants by speaking with village elders. Mercenaries start out stronger than peasants, though they cost more and they don't advance much beyond their initial stats. Peasants are initially very weak, but after hardening them in battle, you can advance them into the most powerful units in the game.

Travel to cities and purchase a variety of foodstuffs. Each unique type of food increases your warband's morale. The higher your warband's morale, the faster it travels. This is essential when running down a smaller group of bandits. You can also improve morale by winning battles, by holding a feast at your keep and by buying a round of drinks at a tavern.

Explore the countryside until you spot the tracks of a bandit party. Follow the tracks until you spot the bandits themselves. Click on the bandits to chase them. If they're slower than your warband, you'll eventually catch them. If they're faster, then you might still catch them if they run into a river or forest and slow themselves down.
