How to Change the Default Health in Unreal Tournament

The release of "Unreal Tournament" in 1999 was not just another link in the first-person shooter genre -- its online multiplayer mode changed the video gaming world. While players can still play against computer bots, they now have the option of playing real opponents in a fast-paced combat. Although it is not possible to change the default health settings in online mode, you can activate the "god" mode while playing against computer bots. The "god" mode changes the default health settings so you are impervious to damage.

     Launch the "Unreal Tournament" game on your desktop or laptop computer. Start a match in any game mode except the online mode.

     Press the "tilde" key (~) on your keyboard, which is located under the "Esc" key and above the "Tab" key. A text box should appear in the upper right corner of the screen.

     Type the word "god" into the text box and press the "Enter" key on your keyword to submit the code and return to your game. The "god" code changes the default settings and prevents you from sustaining any damage during the game.
