How to Convert Composite Video to Arcade RGB

If you have a game console, DVD player or computer with a composite video output and you want to send it to an arcade monitor with an RGB input, you need an electronic up-converter to change the analog video signal to a higher resolution. The simplest type of up-converter uses line doubling and results in an interlaced scan that illuminates the odd lines of the screen in one sweep and the even lines in the next. A more advanced version uses scaling, which results in a progressive scan that illuminates all lines in a single sweep, making a better picture.
