How to Duplicate Items in Fallout 3

"Fallout 3" is an immersive, high-fantasy role-playing game taking place in and around the post peak-oil Washington, D.C., area. Over the course of the game, the protagonist of the story grows from a cosseted underground vault dweller to a major player in politics and human health. Because resources in this energy-depleted world are rare and mostly scavenged, gamers may occasionally need to rely on the games cheat options, which can spawn any item in the game in any amount, among other functions.

Instructions

    • 1

Boot the "Fallout 3" program on your computer and load a saved game from the "Load" menu in which your character is no longer a baby and can hold items. If a saved file like this does not exist, select the "New" button.

    • 2

Press the "~" key on your keyboard, usually located directly above the "Tab" key, after the scene transitions away from the infant phase of the character's life.

Type the phrase "player.additem [item number] [item amount]" into the text field to get duplicate items. For example, typing "player.additem 00050E4 100" and pressing the "Enter" key will shower the player in 100 party hats, because "00050E44" is the party hat's item number. Consult Cheat Code Central's "Fallout 3" Additem list for a complete list of item codes.
