Fun Ways to Lose Your Kid on the Sims 2

In "The Sims 2," players create virtual characters named Sims that can fall in love, get married and have children. However, much like in real life, if your Sims are negligent parents, their children will be taken away by a social worker and adopted by a new family. For some players, the fun of "The Sims 2" is not in helping the Sims to succeed, but in watching them suffer. If you want to lose your kids in "The Sims 2," there are several ways to accomplish this goal.
  1. Negligence

    • Being a negligent parent to your children in "The Sims 2" is the quickest way to get them taken away by social workers. Like the adult Sims, children Sims have a number of needs that must be taken care of, such as comfort, energy, bladder and hunger. If your child Sim has not taken a bath in days or keeps passing out from exhaustion, it will attract the attention of the social worker. Starvation is the easiest as child Sims cannot cook their own meals.

    Problems at School

    • If your Sim's grades are slipping in school it will result in a visit from the social worker. Sims receive bad grades when their homework is not completed every night and they go to school in a bad mood. Keep your Sim distracted with entertainment objects after school to keep him from his homework and let him stay up late every night so that he is tired the next day at school. Sims can skip school by missing the school bus in the morning, which also causes their grades to drop.

    Home Alone

    • If a Sims child is left home alone without adult supervision, a social worker will come to the house to claim the child. Have each of the adult Sims in the household head to a community lot, go to work or visit a different Sim household. If another adult Sim is at your house with the child, such as a nanny, maid or visiting Sim, it will count as having a babysitter and the social worker will not be alerted.

    Made an Orphan

    • When a Sim loses his parents and no other adult Sims live in the same household, he will be taken away by social services. Adult Sims can die from starvation, exhaustion, drowning in a pool or burning alive in a fire. The social worker will show up if the only adult in the house with a child dies, regardless of whether the Sim lives at the house or not. If you don't want any of your adult Sims to die, leave the child with a babysitter and kill the babysitter instead.
