How to Use Boosts & Coins in Bejeweled Blitz

Bejeweled Blitz is a special variant of the wildly successful casual "match 3" game Bejeweled 2. It contains the same style of game play, with modifiers that can affect how a game plays out and a time limit of one minute to see how quickly players can rack up points. The "Blitz" variation was created specifically for Facebook and connects with each player's "friends" list to encourage competition and regular play.

Instructions

  Play through several standard games of Bejeweled Blitz, paying special attention to the yellow gems. These sometimes contain coin emblems, which are put into your coin bank when those gems are matched. Last Hurrah also collects any coins left on the board.

  Purchase up to three boosts before playing a game by clicking on the icon for the boost when a new game loads. Each boost lasts for three games.

  Use the Detonate Boost, which is a circular gem with a star shape. Clicking it detonates every power gem on the board. Scramble places a gem with blue and red arrows on the board; clicking it mixes up all of the gems currently on the board. "+5 Seconds" extends the game by five seconds. Mystery Gem adds a random power gem (star, flame or hypercube) at the start of the game and free Multiplier starts with one "x2" multiplier gem at the beginning of the game.

  Experiment with combinations of boosts every dozen games or so. Detonate works well with Mystery Gem and Free Multiplier because it can get you a "x3" multiplier within seconds if the Mystery Gem is a Hypercube or Star Cube. Every day, players can get at least one slot machine roll, which can supply as many as one million coins with which to purchase boosts.
