How to Make Skinny Jeans for the Sims

"The Sims 2," published in 2004 by Electronic Arts, contains a built in program, titled "Bodyshop," which allows players to further customize their Sims. Using "Bodyshop," players can edit their Sim's appearance, as well as their clothing. You can alter Sim clothing not only in color and texture, you can also make the clothes baggy or tight. Although skinny jeans are not available in the standard character creation screen, players can create skinny jeans by using the "Bodyshop" program.

Instructions

    • 1

Load "The Sims 2: Bodyshop." "Bodyshop" is part of "The Sims 2" program and can be located in your "The Sims 2" directory. You will see two buttons. One will say "Build Sims" and one will say "Create Parts." Click on "Create Parts."

    • 2

Click on the "Start New Project" button near the bottom of the screen. If you are unsure about the function of a particular button, hover your mouse pointer over the button for a few seconds and a text description of the button will appear.

    • 3

Click on "Create Clothing." You will be presented with different categories of clothing, including "Everyday," "Formal," and "Sportswear." Select "Everyday." A menu will appear asking you to choose whether you wish to work on "Tops," "Bottoms" or "Whole Outfits." Select "Bottoms."

    • 4

Choose a pair of pants that most closely resemble a pair of skinny jeans and that have a color and texture that you like. You can edit color and texture later, but it is easiest to choose a pair of pants that already has a color and texture combination that appeals to you. The pair of pants you choose will appear on the mannequin Sim at the left side of the screen.

    • 5

Click on the "Export" button near the bottom of the screen. The "Export" button is represented by an icon of a folder and an arrow. Name your file whatever you like. For example, name your file "SkinnyJeans." Click on "Accept Project Name" once you are satisfied with your file name.

    • 6

Load your graphics editing program and open your new file. The file will be located in the "Projects" folder of your "The Sims 2: Bodyshop" directory. You will see four files listed.

    • 7

Open the file that ends in "TextureName_aplha.bmp." You will see a black screen with a white silhouette of the pair of pants you choose in "Step 4."

    • 8

Use the eraser tool to carefully trim down the bottom of the silhouette. Don't worry about getting it perfect on the first try; it will likely take a few tries to achieve the look you want.

    • 9

Save your file and open "The Sims 2: Bodyshop" again. Click on the "Refresh Preview Sim" button, represented by a circular arrow. You will see your pair of pants on the mannequin Sim.

    • 10

Look at the legs of your pair of pants. If they are still too baggy or if skin is showing, return to your graphics editor and make adjustments. Remember that areas in black will not be shown in the game and that areas in white will be shown in the game. You want just enough white area to cover the Sim's legs.
