How to Keep My Sims Alive

"The Sims" is a real-life simulation game that can be played on a PC, or gaming system. The game has three installments and many expansion packs. The first version was released in 2000, and the latest as of June 2011, "Sims 3," was released in 2009. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep your Sims alive if you don't provide them with the proper safety and care, just like in real life. You need to ensure that your Sims are rested, fed and sheltered.

  Purchase a fire alarm in buy mode, and place it above any stove, grill or fireplace in your Sim home. Fire alarms will prevent your Sim from burning to death by automatically alerting the fire department.

  Keep your Sim fed. Every time a Sim attempts to make a meal, they earn a cooking skill and can continue to make new meals. Make sure to purchase a refrigerator in buy mode and place it in your kitchen.

  Install a ladder in any pool you build. If there is no ladder, your Sim cannot escape and can eventually die from starvation, or fall asleep and drown.
