How to Disable Auto-Attack on 'Heroes of Newerth'

"Heroes of Newerth" is a real-time strategy game released in May 2010 that is influenced by Blizzard's "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne." Each team starts on opposite sides of the map with the goal to defend their base, while at the same time pushing forward through the artificial intelligence computer creatures, which spawn in the middle of the map, to infiltrate the enemy's base to destroy their primary structure. By default, units automatically attack enemies when they come across them. If you have other ideas in mind for your units and want to micro-manage them, you can tell them to hold their position instead.

     Click the unit for which you want to disable auto-attack.

     Press "H" or click "Hold Position" to tell your unit to remain in place. It will stay there until you tell it to perform another action.

   • 3

     Repeat the action every time want your character to stay in place. Once you instruct your character to move or perform another action, it will begin to auto-attack again. You need to hold your position every time.
