How to Get the DLC for Call of Duty 6 on the PC

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" is the sixth "Call of Duty" game in the series. Two downloadable content packs, or DLC for short, have been released for the game as of June 2011. Each pack includes five maps for the multiplayer component of "Modern Warfare 2." On the PC, "Modern Warfare 2" is a Steamworks title and requires the digital distribution service Steam to run. As a result, the two DLC packs must be bought on Steam. A credit card, debit card or PayPal account is required to purchase the DLC.

  Launch Steam.

  Click the "Store" tab, located at the top of the Steam window.

  Type "Modern Warfare 2" into the search bar, located at the top right corner of the Steam window. Click "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" from the search results.

  Click on the DLC you wish to purchase -- the Stimulus Pack or the Resurgence Pack.

  Click "Add to Cart." Each DLC costs $14.99 to purchase.

  Click "Purchase for Myself."

  Enter your billing information, including your name, address, phone number and credit card number.

  Click the box next to "I agree to the terms of the Steam Subscriber Agreement."

  Click "Purchase." The DLC is automatically installed to your copy of "Modern Warfare 2," and the maps will appear in the map rotation the next time the multiplayer portion of "Modern Warfare 2" is played.
