How to Install a Group Calendar for World of Warcraft

The group calendar is an add-on you can use in the "World of Warcraft (WOW)" online game. It offers an in-game calendar that allows you to plan, manage and sign up for special events in the "WOW" website. However, when using add-ons you can experience issues because you need to add the files to the installed game folder instead of the default download and "Documents" installation location. Otherwise, the add-on will be unusable.

Instructions

  Navigate to the group calendar add-on you want. Find options on Curse, "WOW" Interface or FilePlanet. Click the "Download" button for the calendar you desire. Wait for the download to complete.

  Close the "World of Warcraft" game website or the new add-on will not appear in the game.

  Locate the "WOW" game files location. This will usually be "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft" but you can locate it by right-clicking on the "WOW" icon on your desktop and selecting "Properties." Go to the folder.

  Click twice on the "Interface" folder and locate the "Addons" folder. Copy the location you see in the upper Windows Explorer address bar by clicking the "Ctrl" and "C" keys simultaneously. For example, the copied address should be something like: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons.

  Locate and click on the downloaded add-on link. Wait for the zipped file window to appear and change the "Unzip To" or "Extract To" location to the file location you copied. Click in the box to delete the existing folder location. Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys simultaneously to paste the new "WOW" add-on folder location.

  Click "Extract" and wait for the files to be extracted into the "WOW" add-on folder.

  Double-click the "World of Warcraft" desktop icon and login to the game. Look for a button called "Addons" in the lower left of the screen. Click the button to see the calendar.
