How to Install Update 1.2 on The Sims 3

"The Sims 3" is the third full installment in Maxis' life-simulation series. It features improved graphics and gameplay over the last iteration, and also allows its users to modify and customize their game world through a variety of tools. Of course, nothing is perfect, and "Sims 3" shipped with several annoying bugs that detracted from the overall experience and -- in some cases -- caused the game to be completely unplayable. EA has released several patches seeking to rectify this situation. The 1.2 patch is one of those patches.

     Launch your web browser and navigate to the "Sims 3" patch page.

     Click the "Download Now" button and save the patch file to your hard drive.

     Launch the patch file once it has finished downloading. The installer window will pop up on your screen.

     Click the "Next" button to start the installation process. You will be notified once the install has finished.
