How to Collect Ore onMinecraft

"Minecraft" is an online video game that emphasizes exploration and discovery over combat. Players can craft an assortment of tools, ranging from shovels to axes, and use them to dig into the belly of the Earth or build towering mansions. As the player mines, he'll eventually discover deposits of ore, which he can then collect and smelt into superior tools. An iron pick axe is far sturdier than a wooden one, and it will pound through layers of stone faster without breaking.

Instructions

    • 1

Left-click on a tree to hit it. You can use your bare hands or a tool. After several strikes, you'll receive a tree trunk. Repeat this until you've gathered at least three trunks.

    • 2

Open your inventory and place the trunks in your creation slot. This converts each trunk into four pieces of wood, totaling 12 planks. Place four planks in the creation slots to build a workbench. Drop the workbench on the ground.

    • 3

Right-click on the workbench to open its creation grid. Place one plank in the middle slot and another plank immediately beneath it. This creates four sticks.

    • 4

Fill the top row with planks. Put a stick in the middle slot and another stick immediately beneath it. This creates a wooden pick axe. Wooden pickaxes break easily, so create several of them.

    • 5

Equip the pick axe and left-click on the ground. You'll dig downward. The deeper you get, the more strikes the earth takes before it crumbles. As you descend, you'll also go through several strata. First, you dig through the top soil, then cobblestone, then coal and then iron. When you destroy a cube of stone containing iron, a small ore ingot floats above the ground.

Walk near the ore ingot and you'll automatically collect it.
