How to Lower the Disk Size for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

The PC version of "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" requires that you have 4.7 gigabytes (GB) of free space on your hard drive at all times for the game to use. This hard disk space will be taken up by the system files required to run the game. If you want to lower the disk size for "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" you have to do so during the initial installation for the title.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your "San Andreas" game disc into your PC. When the "San Andreas" window automatically loads, select the "Install" option.

    • 2

Click "Next." Read through the Rockstar Games terms of use (these are legal terms you agree to by installing the game). Check "I Agree" and click "Next."

    • 3

Select "Minimal" from the list of install options. You can choose between "Full" and "Minimal." Performing a "Full" install places every file required to play the game on your hard drive. This requires 4.7 GB of hard drive space. A "Minimal" install requires only 3.6 GB of hard drive space.

    • 4

Select "Next." Continue to click "Next" until the "Finish" option appears. Click "Finish" to install "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" onto your hard drive.
