Hacks for Diablo 2 Expansion Characters

"Diablo II: Lord Of Destruction" is a third-person role-playing game that was released for the PC in June 2001. There are a few hacks you can use on Diablo II for single player, but cheating is not allowed on closed Battle.net's multiplayer server. You can however, hack your single player characters and use them on "Open" Battle.net with no risk of being banned from game play.
  1. Duping

    • Duping (making copies of items) is easy on single player Diablo II. Put all of the gear you want to dupe into your inventory and save &exit the game. Open up your character's save file in your "Diablo II" folder. The default location for this is "C:\Program Files\Diablo II\Save". You will see files there for all of your single-player characters. Highlight the file that has your character name, right click and then left click the "Copy" option. All character files have a ".d2s" extension name. Paste the file to your desktop and enter an open Battle.net game and give all the items you want to dupe to a friend, then save and exit the game. Copy the backup file you placed on your desktop and paste it back into your "Diablo II" save file and click the "Yes" button when it asks whether you are sure you want to overwrite the existing file. Your friend will have the items you gave him and your character will still have the items in its inventory.

    Character Trainers

    • Character trainers are third-party programs that you can use to make items for your character and edit your character's attributes outside of the game. You can max out all of your skills and give your self 999 strength, dexterity and vitality. There are dozens of different trainers publicly available. A link to some of these is provided in the resources section below.

    Modding Diablo II

    • "Diablo II" mods are another way to hack your characters. You can get access to skills that aren't normally available in the game and items that do not exist outside of the mod you are using. There are hundreds of mods, but a link to a short list of them is provided in the resources section below.

    Online Hacking

    • Even though it is against the terms of service and can result in the user being banned from online play, hacking on closed Battle.net is a widespread practice. Maphack is one of the more popular hacks used online. It allows players to see where everything is located on their mini-map and makes questing and magic finding much quicker. Botting is another popular hack. Using a "Bot," players can have an artificial intelligence program kill bosses for them to collect valuable items. These programs are easy to locate via "Diablo II" user forums, but use is not recommended. Not only can you be banned, but some files could be infected with viruses or spyware that can harm your computer.
