How to Get Rid of Bedrock in Minecraft

"Bedrock" is a material in the sandbox game "Minecraft" that can be found at the bottom of the game's maps. It prevents the player from falling out of the playable area. While under usual circumstances it is indestructible, bedrock can be destroyed through the use of game mods. Once bedrock has been destroyed, you can access "beneath" the map. In this area, your character will fall to the bottom and must re-spawn to continue gameplay.

Instructions

    • 1

Download the "Single Player Commands" for "Minecraft" and unzip the file using an unzip utility, such as Winzip, 7-Zip or WinRAR.

    • 2

Navigate to the ".minecraft" folder on your computer.

    • 3

Open the "bin" folder and locate the "minecraft.jar" file.

    • 4

Right click and open the file with the archive program of your choice (Winzip, 7-Zip or other utility).

    • 5

Open the "Single Player Commands" folder and copy all the ".class" files into the "minecraft.jar" archive.

    • 6

Delete the "META-INF" folder within the archive.

    • 7

      Close the archive.

    • 8

Copy the ".jar" files from the "Single Player Commands" folder into the "bin" folder in your "Minecraft" directory.

    • 9

Start the game, load your world and press "T" to bring up the chat box. Type "//" without the quotes and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to be given the "Super Pickaxe." Use the "Super Pickaxe" on bedrock to destroy it.
