How Do I Fire Arrows in Minecraft?

In "Minecraft," an independently designed game that drew inspiration from titles such as "Dwarf Fortress," "Dungeon Keeper" and "Infiniminer," players must create hundreds of tools to help them survive the dangerous, monster-ridden nights of their three-dimensional environment. Players can either take the melee or the ranged route via swords and archery. To fire arrows at your enemies, you must craft both a bow and arrows.

Instructions

    • 1

Obtain the materials necessary to craft a bow and arrow. A bow requires wooden sticks and string. Wooden sticks are made from wooden planks while string is obtained by killing spiders in the nighttime. Every arrow requires a stick, a feather and a piece of flint. Flint comes from quarrying gravel and feathers come from chickens.

    • 2

Right-click any nearby crafting table. These must be built for you to craft the vast majority of the items in the game, offering a 3-by-3 crafting grid rather than the default 2-by-2 grid.

    • 3

Fill the first column of the crafting table grid with bits of string. Place a wooden stick in the first and third squares of the center column. Place a wooden stick in the center square of the last column.

    • 4

Click and drag the image of the bow into your inventory. Right-click the crafting table again.

    • 5

Place a piece of flint in the center square of the top row. Place a wooden stick in the center square of the center row. Place a feather in the center square of the bottom row.

    • 6

Drag the image of the arrow into your inventory.

    • 7

Scroll through your inventory until you equip the bow. Left-click to fire the arrows at your target.
