How Can I Get Ranger Combat Armor Without Killing?

"Fallout: New Vegas" was released in 2010 and is the latest in the Fallout series developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Players control The Courier, who travels the post-apocalyptic Mojave Desert in a quest to get vengeance on the people who left him for dead. Players interact with various powerful factions along the way, one being the New California Republic. The "Ranger" armor is difficult to obtain without killing very high level characters and risking the reputation hit, but an option exists to obtain this armor peacefully.

  Complete New California Republic (NCR) missions to gain positive reputation with the faction. There are plenty of opportunities to do this at the start of the game as the first major location you'll travel to is the Mojave Outpost, an NCR quest hub. You want to have a "Liked" reputation with NCR.

  Travel to Camp McCarran, which is situated on an airport outside New Vegas. Enter the Terminal building and go left. Colonel James Hsu's office is the first door. Talk to him and he will give you the NCR Ranger Safehouse Key. Complete the mission he gives you if your reputation isn't high enough and he should give you the key as a reward.

  Go north-west of Black Mountain near the Brotherhood of Steel Bunker and you should find a shack called "Ranger Safehouse." Inside are various weapons and armors, including a Ranger Armor in low condition. The "Jury Rigging" perk or other medium armors should let you repair this armor safely.
