How to Increase Perception in Fallout 2

"Fallout 2" was released for the PC in 1998. When creating your character, you may place points in seven character statistics, such as strength, luck and perception. Perception allows your character to become more proficient with ranged weapons; it also provides a bonus to your lock-picking and traps skills. There are three ways to increase your perception statistic once you have created your character: one temporary and two permanent.

Instructions

    • 1

Use mentats to temporarily raise your perception by two points. The bonus that mentats provides can only be stacked once. For example, using two mentats increases your perception by four, but any more mentats after this will not raise the bonus. Mentats can be found from the bodies of your defeated enemies, in shops and found in abandoned buildings.

Learn the "Gain Perception" perk. This is available once your character is Level 12, and is selectable upon gaining a character level. Each time this perk is learned, your perception will increase by one.

    • 3

Use the Green Memory Module, found in the Mariposa army base, in the ACE computer at the Brotherhood of Steel bunker. When the module is inserted, you can use the computer to increase your perception by one.
