Archangel Game

"Archangel" is a part role-playing game and part action-adventure game released for PC in October 2002. It was developed by German game manufacturers Jowood Entertainment AG. The game sees an average man transported into different worlds to battle evil creatures, locate the stones vital to his quest and save the world.
  1. Plot

    • Michael, your character in the game, is killed in a car accident in the very first scene. This may seem like a terrible start for you, but the Lord of Light has your back, resurrecting you to fight the demons hell-bent on destroying Earth. Unfortunately for you, Michael is a family man rather than a highly trained, heavily armed marine. But the Lord of Light has you pegged as the chosen one and believes that only you can acquire the Heart, Body and Soul stones and use them to defeat the Master of Darkness, thus saving mankind.

    The Choice

    • Soon after starting the game you will face a choice that will vastly change your experience of "Archangel," depending on the option you go with. The Lord of Light offers you the ability to turn into a ghost or a warrior for a short amount of time whenever you are in danger and require an advantage in a fight. Transforming into a ghost means that you are invisible and can attack enemies with magic. As a warrior, you can both take and dish out a great deal of punishment.

    Sword of Light

    • Your major weapon throughout the game is the Sword of Light, which is given to you by an abbot before your quest begins. This weapon is very powerful, but it drains your spiritual energy and when this is empty you can neither use the sword nor change to your alternate form. As the game goes on, you can find weapons, such as swords and daggers, that don't run on spiritual energy, but are weak. Completing missions, however, earns Essence points that you can use to improve your current stock of weapons.

    Three Worlds

    • The game is split into three parts, each taken place in a completely different setting. You begin in a medieval place before you are transported to a futuristic world and you eventually end up in a land called The Forgotten Place. Whatever world you are in, it will be a large area in which different sections are separated by misty borders. Each land is filled with a variety of enemies, from trees that shoot fireballs to the walking dead.
