How to Make a Runeword Bow on 'Diablo 2'

"Diablo 2" returned players to the mythical lands of Sanctuary for a second showdown with Diablo, the demonic Lord of Hell. Players of the computer game from Blizzard Entertainment select from one of nine specialized classes, and equip magical gear in order to battle the denizens of Hell. Many magical items appear already imbued with additional powers, statistic increases or bonus damage. Players also have the chance to assemble runes, small magical items found in the game, into Rune Words by inserting them into weapons with empty sockets. Ranged weapons, including bows, gain additional magical powers this way.

  Select the Rune Word of your choice. Blizzard lists all available Rune Word recipes on The Arreat Summit (see Resources), the official "Diablo II" information site. Each Rune Word imbues an item with a different set of magical bonuses.

  Drag and drop each rune from your inventory to the empty sockets on the bow. Insert the runes in the exact order that they appear in the Rune Word. Each Rune Word requires a specific set of runes, and the number of sockets in the bow must match the number of runes required for the word. For instance, the Rune Word Harmony requires four runes: Tir, Ith, Sol and Ko, and may only be assembled in a four-socket bow.

  Place your cursor over the bow after inserting all runes. The new statistics generated by the Rune Word should now appear in blue text. This includes any attribute bonuses, additional damage or spells added to the weapon.
