How to Turn on Rolls in World of Warcraft

Certain quests and most dungeons in "World of Warcraft" require a group to complete the challenges. By default, most loot settings are set as "Group Loot" or "Need Before Greed," both of which require party members to roll for loot if more than one person needs the item. If the loot system is set at anything other than those two options, such as "Master Loot," party members will not roll for an item. Only the group leader can change the loot system.

Instructions

    • 1

Right-click your character's unit frame at the top left of the screen. The unit frame displays an icon of your character and your character's health and mana bars.

    • 2

Hover over "Loot." A window will appear to the right. Click "Group Loot."

    • 3

Click "Need" or "Greed" when an uncommon or rarer item drops while in a group. "Need" indicates your character needs the item, while "greed" indicates your character could use the item, but doesn't need it for his primary build. If someone chooses "Need" and you select "Greed," your roll will not appear; as "Need" takes precedence.
