Superman
An infant named Kal-El was sent to Earth to escape the destruction of his own planet, Krypton. Raised in Smallville under the name Clark Kent, this alien boy would grow up to become the planet's greatest savior, Superman. Powered by the sun, this flying superhero has incredible strength, fires heat from his eyes and is almost indestructible. Superman pounds his enemies into the ground by smashing his fists down on their heads as a finishing move.
Lex Luthor
The arch enemy of Superman, Lex Luthor uses his wealth and intellect when facing off with the man of steel. Mainly though, he uses Kryptonite, Superman's one weakness.To finish his foes in this game, a series of missiles obliterate his enemy.
Batman
Bruce Wayne, using the superhero alter ego Batman, strikes fear into all thugs and criminals. The Dark Knight protects Gotham City, armed with an arsenal of gadgets and spurred on by the murder of his parents. Batman sends a swarm of bats to attack his enemy for one of his finishing moves in the game.
The Joker
Most superheroes have one archenemy; Batman's is The Joker. He may look like a clown with his green hair, white face and red lips, but don't book him for a kid's party. He is a psychopathic and sadistic criminal mastermind. The joker throws razer sharp playing cards into his enemy's chest and head for his finishing move.
Catwoman
Selina Kyle, or Catwoman, is not your typical villain, firstly because she is a love interest of Batman. Also, while her main source of income is burglary, she still has morals. Just like a feline, Catwoman is incredibly agile, athletic and graceful. For a finishing move, she breaks her opponent's neck with her whip.
Shazam
Also known as Captain Marvel, the story of this superhero could be taken straight from a kid's dream. Billy Batson is a 15 year old boy who turns into an adult superhero called Captain Marvel when he says the word "Shazam." This hero is similar to Superman, with super-strength, super-speed and the ability to fly. For his finishing move, Shazam picks up his enemies and slams them into the ground so hard that only the legs are visible.
The Flash
Flash, quite simply, is the fastest thing alive. This is not only physical speed; he can speed-read and his thoughts are processed at a super-quick pace.This superhero punches his enemy at ultra speed, from numerous angles, as a finishing move.
Green Lantern
Worthy candidates from across the universe are given a power ring and power lantern, which gives them the ability to create anything they can imagine. All of these beings are known as Green Lantern. There have been a few Green Lanterns on the planet earth, but Hal Jordan is the most famous.For a finishing move, Green Lantern encases his opponent in a bubble and then shrinks it, crushing his foe.
Wonder Woman
The Princess of the Amazons, Wonder Woman, is known as Diana of Themyscira in her homeland. She has super strength, speed and stamina. The Amazonian also carries a lasso that can force people to tell the truth. For her finishing move, Wonder Woman wraps her lasso around her enemies and spins them so fast that they are sent drilling into the ground.
Deathstroke, Darkseid and Dark Kahn
Deathstroke the Terminator, or Slade as he is also known, is a deadly assassin. He is a highly skilled martial artist and has enhanced physical attributes due to secret army experiments. Deathstroke's finishing moves include stabbing a sword in his opponent's stomach and then shooting this enemy with his gun.
Darkseid is not just a threat to earth, but the entire universe. Hailing from the planet Apokolips, he is an immortal alien with the desire to rule over all planets. Darkseid can smash both of his fists into the floor and lift his enemies off their feet.
One more combatant fights for DC in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, but he is not a DC character. He is a mixture of Darkseid and the Mortal Kombat character Shao Kahn, call Dark Kahn. Dark Kahn can create a glowing red war mallet appear which he smashes down on his opponent's head.
