"World of Warcraft" was released for the PC in 2004. In addition to selecting your character class and race, each character can also have up to two professions. Professions allow you to make new weapons, armor and items for your character to use. Your character will need bars for the blacksmith profession, like copper bars, before he can create items. Copper bars are smelted from copper ore at the forge at any major city. You must have the mining profession and copper ore to create copper bars.

Travel to a major city, such as Stormwind if you are Alliance or Orgrimmar if you are Horde.

Travel to the mining trainer. Near this trainer will always be a forge.

Stand next to the forge.

Press "P" to open your abilities book.

Click the "Smelting" icon.

Click "Smelt Copper."

Click "Create." One copper ore will make one copper bar, which is automatically added to your inventory.
