Instructions
Select a character birth month that will give your character a higher starting charm. These include Month 2 "Changes," Month 6 "Water," Month 10 "Gods," and Month 11 "Frost." Month 10: "Gods" offers the highest charm.
Work at jobs that help you to increase your charm. When you first start the game, this is limited to busking or performing in the Town Square. Some jobs, such as taming animals, will reduce your charm. After you achieve competency in the entry-level jobs, you'll gain access to other jobs that will also let you increase your charm. Later jobs that improve your charm include salesgirl and cashier at the store, barmaid at the inn, dancer at the town park and storyteller at the library.
Attend special events that happen each quarter. Visit the traders in the Town Square during the third month's Spring Festival or enter the Flower Queen contest. The contest doesn't give you charm right away, but it can open up missions and endings that grant you charm. Dance away the sixth month festival at the Midsummer Ball and your charm will increase. Talk to the traders at the Harvest Festival during Month 9 to see whether they have items that will raise your charm. During the 12th month, you can go to the Town Square and select "Celebrate." You'll gain charm for the duration of the Festival.
Take college courses that can raise your charm. In the beginning, this means lots of dance classes which will raise your luck as well as your charm.
Buy items that raise your charm in the general store. Items that raise your charm include gold necklaces, gold rings and fancy dresses.
Socialize in the town square. It doesn't earn you any money, but it does raise your charm and introduce you to people who can later help you gain access to quests that will raise your charm.
