How to Use GameShark for Pokemon Gold

The GameShark device, developed by the Mad Catz company, has been providing players with an enhanced gaming experience that would be impossible with normal game play. With secret codes, hints and cheats across numerous platforms and thousands of games, GameShark continues to develop new codes for players to use. With the GameShark device for GameBoy systems, you can find cheat codes to the "Pokemon Gold" version that will allow you to do everything from catch impossible-to-obtain Pokemon to capture Pokemon without fail every time.

Things You'll Need

"Pokemon Gold" game cartridge
Nintendo GameBoy

Instructions

  Insert your GameShark cartridge into the cartridge slot on your GameBoy handheld device.

  Plug the "Pokemon Gold" game cartridge into the slot on the GameShark cartridge.

  Switch the power button on the GameShark to the "On" position and do the same for the GameBoy device. Be sure to turn on the GameShark before powering on the GameBoy.

  Wait for the GameShark menu to load and scroll through the list of pre-loaded games until you find the game title "Pokemon Gold." Press the "A" button while "Pokemon Gold" is highlighted to reveal all the codes that come within the GameShark codes database. Once you have found the code you want, highlight it and press the "Start" button on your GameBoy device to launch the game and use the code.

  Manually enter your own codes if you cannot find the code you want to use by going back to the main menu and selecting the "Codes" option. Type in the code in the box provided and press the "Start" button to save the code and launch the "Pokemon Gold" game.
