How to Make Game Shark Codes Work in a VBA ROM

Visual Boy Advance is a popular video game emulator for the Nintendo Gameboy Advance. In addition, VBA plays the original Nintendo Gameboy games and Nintendo Gameboy Color games. VBA has many features, such as a built-in GameShark, which is a cheat cartridge or CD that you use to enter your own cheat codes on a game that has GameShark codes. If you have a VBA, and you would like to make GameShark codes work in a VBA ROM, you can enter your codes manually on the game emulator yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Run VBA and then click "File," and "Open Gameboy" to run a VBA ROM.

    • 2

Click the "Cheats" menu and then click the "Cheat List" option. Click the "GameShark" option to access the VBA GameShark.

    • 3

Navigate to a GameShark cheats website provided in the "Resources" section.

    • 4

Return to Visual Boy Advance. Paste the codes into the white box and then click "OK." VBA lets you know if your GameShark codes work by giving you its status. The letter "E" stands for "enabled," which means the GameShark code or codes work.

    • 5
