How to Find Phanpy in Pokémon Sapphire

In "Pokémon Sapphire," you can only find Phanpy -- an elephant Pokémon -- in the Safari Zone, which is a game preserve filled with Pokémon. The Safari Zone has its own unique set of rules, which you will need to abide by while searching for Phanpy; you cannot battle Pokémon in the Safari Zone, and you can only use Safari Balls to capture them. You will only be able to find Phanpy in one particular section of the Safari Zone, and it may take awhile for you to find it there, as the Pokémon has a low encounter rate.

     Travel to Lilycove City and take the east exit out of the city to enter Route 121.

     Head northwest on Route 121 to enter the Safari Zone.

     Pay $500 and enter the Safari Zone. Ride the Arco Bike north to enter zone 4 of the Safari Zone, which is where you can find Phanpy. You must have the Arco Bike to enter zone 4.

     Walk around the tall grass until you encounter Phanpy. The Pokémon has an encounter rate of 30 percent, so it may take some time before you finally find one.
