How to Do Some of the Events Over in Pokemon Diamond With Action Replay

"Pokemon Diamond" is a role-playing game for the Nintendo DS portable gaming system. Players take on the role of a young Pokemon trainer who is tasked with battling and capturing the elusive creatures known as Pokemon. The ultimate goal of the player's quest is to capture a Pokemon from every known species. With hundreds of different Pokemon to capture, train and breed, this can turn into a monumental task. Some Pokemon can only be obtained through special events -- if you miss the opportunity to capture a Pokemon during one of these events, you'll need to use an Action Replay cheating device to rectify the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine which events or Pokemon you'll need to have a second chance at. Many Pokemon are associated with hidden events that require an in-game item to initiate. These items are usually distributed through a promotional event or limited-time Internet download. In "Pokemon Diamond," the event items include Member Card, Azure Flute, Secret Key and Oak's Letter. These items allow the player to catch rare Pokemon such as Darkrai, Rotom, Arceus and Shaymin. You'll need to know which Pokemon or event items are missing from your "Save" file in order to find the right codes for your Action Replay.

    • 2

Use a code list to find the codes for any Pokemon or event items that you need. Action Replay cheating devices use hexadecimal codes to insert new data into games. With the proper codes, you can add the Pokemon or event items you want directly into your "Save" file. This allows you to repeat events as many times as you want, or even add the event Pokemon directly to your collection without needing to replay the event.

    • 3

Insert your Action Replay device into your Nintendo DS. Insert your "Pokemon Diamond" cartridge into the cartridge slot of the Action Replay.

    • 4

Power on the Nintendo DS. Use the directional pad to navigate the Action Replay main menu. Select "Add Codes" to enter new codes for "Pokemon Diamond." Press "Start" to save your codes to the Action Replay system memory for later use. Enter any codes you wish to use, then select "Start Game" from the Action Replay main menu.

    • 5

Load your existing "Save" file once "Pokemon Diamond" boots up. You should now have the desired event items or Pokemon in your inventory.
