Hidden Blue House

• The P-Wing grants you endless flight for an entire level, but these items are few and far between, so you will need to know when and how to find them. In World 7, you can activate a hidden Blue House containing a P-Wing by entering World 7-2 and collecting 42 or more coins. Most of the coins are found underwater and can be difficult to collect with Mario. Use the Frog Suit to transform Mario and collect the coins without hassle to unlock a Blue House.

Whistle

• The whistles found in the fortress of World 1, World 1-3 and past the rocks in World 2 can transport you forward in the game so you can bypass entire worlds. This bypass cheat also includes blowing right through World 7. Collect the first two whistles in World 1 and then use one to transport to World 2. Break the rocks using the hammer obtained from the Boomerang Brothers and collect the third whistle. Use your second whistle and transport to World 7. Do not enter any levels in World 7, instead use the final whistle to transport to World 8, skipping Worlds 3 through 6 completely and only using World 7 as a pit stop.

Infinite 1-Ups

• Go to World 7-3 and jump up under the first question mark box to get an Invincibility Star. Collect the star and run to the right hitting every enemy along the way. Stop when you reach the group of four question mark boxes and hit the bottom left box for a new star. Collect the star and continue running forward. Repeat on the next set of boxes. Every enemy you hit will award you with a 1-Up. If at any time you run out of your Invincibility Star, die and restart the level for more lives. Die before the end of the level and restart for more lives. Repeat this cheat for infinite lives.

P-Wing Level Cheat

• World 7 is known for an abundance of pipes and gaps that can test your platform might. You can bypass these levels with the help of a P-Wing. Enter a level such as the desert and pip hybrid of 7-9 with the item activated and immediately fly upward until you can no longer see Mario. Press "Right" on the directional pad to move across the level without being vulnerable to any attacks. Drop down at the end of the level to finish. As a bonus, you will have the Raccoon Suit equipped for the next stage.
