Pokemon Silver Version Cheats for Gameboy Color

"Pokemon Silver" is a role-playing video game that was released by Nintendo exclusively for the Game Boy Color handheld gaming system. In "Pokemon Silver," players must catch, train and raise small creatures called Pokemon. Each Pokemon has different strengths, weaknesses and personality traits. Players must use the Pokemon they catch in battles, and there are badges and moves to be found throughout the game to increase the odds of winning. Cheats can help players succeed in "Pokemon Silver."
  1. Breeding

    • Only certain types of Pokemon can breed with one another, and a text box will appear in Pokemon Silver to let players know if breeding is possible between two types. Players may find themselves in a situation where they have one of the two Pokemon necessary to create a new type. If this is the case, players can use a Ditto as the female Pokemon, eliminating the need to find a specific type. Among the Pokemon that can only be found by breeding them are Pichu, Magby, Cleffa, Electrabuzz, Igglybuff and Smoochum. Using a Ditto to breed these Pokemon is often quicker than finding both Pokemon necessary to create them.

    Cloning

    • Players can get two of the same Pokemon while playing Silver Version and using a cheat available in the game. To do this, players must find a computer in Silver Version and place the desired Pokemon in their collection. After doing this, players must switch their cursor to an alternate box and select the Save option. While saving, turn the Game Boy Color system off, and then turn it back on. The game will revert back to the Save screen, and there will be a Pokemon in the original box as well as the one beside it.

    Clock

    • To accomplish more in a shorter amount of time in Pokemon Silver, players can stop the game's clock. This cheat prevents players from taking too long to complete a task. To stop the Pokemon Silver clock at the exact time the game shows, players can talk to the Machop in Vermillion City. After the conversation is finished, players must open their bag and inspect their coin inventory. At this point, the game will stop and need to be reset. As soon as Pokemon Silver is turned back on again, the clock will remain in exactly the same spot it was when the game was reset. This cheat will work regardless of the amount of coins displayed in a player's inventory.
