Pokemon Fire Red Walkthrough & FAQ

Pokemon Fire Red is Gameboy remake of the original Pokemon Red and Blue that was made for the first black and white Gameboys. The game features all of the Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire additions. The game allows you to breed, specify gender and has hold items. The original 150 Pokemon are on this video game, along with a few extras such as the islands that can be found later on in the game.

Controls
- In order to control your Pokemon, you need to know the commands. Use the A button to talk and to examine objects. If you have running shoes, the B button allows you to run. The up, down, left and right buttons allow you to move in the direction of the arrow. The R and L keys access the help menu. The select button allows you to choose your items to be used and the start button takes you to the access menu.
Catching Pokemon
- You need to have as many Pokemon on your team as you can: Try to catch all 386 species. In order to catch a Pokemon, go into battle with a wild Pokemon. Continue battling until their health is very low, press "Right" a few times and get into the far right pocket. Try using your Pokeball to capture the Pokemon. The rarer the Pokemon is, the harder it will be to catch. Make sure you keep at least 10 Pokeballs with you so that you do not miss a chance at catching a rare one.
Tips and Tricks
- Save your game often to keep from losing items. Don't use your Master Pokeball unless you are facing an extremely rare Pokemon that will run or will self destruct. The best place to look for Pokemon is in grassy areas. Dark spots that appear on the ground are usually hidden items. Be sure to investigate.
