How to Add Games to GBA GameShark

The GameBoy Advance GameShark is a device that allows you to use cheat codes in GameBoy Advance games. It comes with the codes for many games pre-loaded into its memory. It might not have the codes for the game you want to cheat on, however, and entering cheat codes manually each time you play a game can be time-consuming. Fortunately, the GameShark has a small amount of on-board memory you can use to add new games and save your favorite cheat codes.

Instructions

  Place the GameBoy Advance game into the opening on the top of the GameShark and turn on the GameShark. Place the assembled GameShark unit into the GameBoy advance and then turn it on. The GameBoy Advance displays the main menu for the GameShark.

  Select "New Game" at the top of the menu using the directional pad. Press "B."

  Enter the title of the game by moving the cursor around the on-screen keyboard and pressing "A" to select letters and numbers. Push the shoulder buttons to move the cursor left or right. Push "Start" to confirm the name. The GameShark now prompts you to enter the first code.

  Input the code using the letters and numbers on the screen. If the code has more than one group of 12 characters, press the "Start" button to move to a new line when needed. Press "Select" after completing the code. This first code enables all of the cheat codes that you will add later.

  Select "Add New Cheat" with the directional pad and press "B."

  Enter a description for the first code, such as "Infinite Lives." Press "Start."

  Enter your code and press "Start." Continue adding new cheat codes for the game you entered by repeating this procedure.
