Fastest Ways to Evolve Feebas

In the "Pokemon" franchise of video games Feebas is a weak and ugly Pokemon that evolves into the beautiful Milotic. Evolving it can be a time-consuming and trying process, as in most games it requires a hidden "Beauty" stat to reach a certain point before evolving. However, there are some shortcuts you can take to speed the process.

Version Differences
- The process of evolving Feebas into Milotic changes mostly on the version you are playing. Some versions make the process easier than others but most involve raising its Beauty stat which is a statistic ordinarily used for Pokemon Contests. The only consistent way to raise this stat is to feed Feebas Pokeblocks or Poffins -- Pokeblocks in "Ruby," "Sapphire" and "Emerald," and Poffins in "Diamond," "Pearl" and "Platinum." By contrast the "Black" and "White" versions of Pokemon do not have Contests or Contest-related stats so the only way to evolve Feebas is by trading.
Trading to Black and White Versions
- The fastest way to evolve Feebas, if you have the "Black" or "White" versions or a friend who can trade with you who does, is to just trade it over, give it a Clean Scale to hold and trade it to another game. This lets you skip the Beauty requirements altogether. However, it requires at least two games.
Massages
- One way to raise Feebas's Beauty is to give it haircuts or massages. These are only available in the "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" versions of the game. You can get a massage from Daisy in Pallet town and a haircut from the Haircut Brothers in Goldenrod Tunnel. About eight haircuts or massages are needed to evolve. If you do not have access to the "White" or "Black" versions this method is "fastest" in terms of actual time spent playing the game. However, as you can get only one massage per day and one haircut per day maximum, it will take about four days of time outside of the game.
Pokeblocks and Poffins
- If your Feebas is stuck in the 3rd or 4th generation games -- Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond, Pearl and Platinum -- you will have to feed it Pokeblocks or Poffins to evolve. Pokeblocks made from Dry berries raise Beauty the most. Filling Feebas with Poffins made from high-level berries -- such as Apicot, Wiki and Ganlon berries -- is the fastest way to get it to evolve via this method. However, there is some risk that your Feebas will get "full" before it evolves and will not be able to take any more berries. To avoid this don't feed it any Poffins or Pokeblocks other than what is needed to evolve.
